Mr. Fernández-Bared holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Law from Lafayette College (Easton, PA, 1983) and a Juris Doctor (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law (1987).

Mr. Fernández-Bared is a shareholder and director at TCM, and partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. Prior to joining TCM, Mr. Fernádez-Bared clerked for the Hon. Gilberto Gierbolini-Ortiz, Chief Judge, United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, and worked at McConnell Valdés, where he was a partner in the Litigation Department. During law school, he was a teaching assistant and associate editor of the University of Puerto Rico Law Review.

Mr. Fernández-Bared has extensive experience in commercial litigation, including workouts, collections, distribution agreements, bankruptcy, product liability, intellectual property, securities arbitration, contract disputes and lenders’ liability.  For more that 25 years, he has handled cases related to the distribution and sale of petroleum products in Puerto Rico. Mr. Fernández-Bared has also handled, both as lead counsel and as local counsel for leading stateside law firms, many large and complex bankruptcies and commercial cases. Mr. Fernández-Bared has given numerous seminars on debt collection, foreclosures and bankruptcy law. He is also a training resource and lecturer in bankruptcy law review workshops for the federal bar exam review course.

Mr. Fernández-Bared is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.  Mr. Manuel Fernández-Bared is also a notary public in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
